Christmas Fair Update

Just a nice winter-picture from Debbie Mumm

I can’t go to the Fair this year, but this is not a big problem now. Sure I’ll miss the bustle of the Fair, talking with the customers and the people who are just looking around, but at present I am not sad because of it.

It so happened that my stocks simply had been run out. A lot of my older customers took some of them and a few smaller shops did the same as well. Then the reason of my final decision: I have a friend, who offers business presents to various companies for every occasion. It was back in autumn when I gave her one album about my things, then long silence. Then suddenly she called me last week and took so many things for some bigger companies. So now I simply don’t have enough stuff to be worth going to the Fair even though I really wanted before.

I think every craftsmen have two kind of nightmare: when she or he works a lot, but nobody is buying anything, and there is the other one but also similarly scary (though a lot more pleasant), when suddenly the customers take just about everything in a day, and she or he is stuck on a fair with an empty table. I think everybody agree these crafted things are not made by simply pushing a Big Red Button and they come off the production line immediately.

I’m still sewing anyways, but these are mainly going to be presents, so I can’t really tell you a lot about them, maybe after the Holidays.

WOW! In your case having nothing left to sell is a very good thing indeed. Congratulations!!!
I wish you continued success!
