Fabric Journal Reloaded

I am working on a couple of new fabric journals as even though I know that modern tools are very helpful, but I trust that there are others in the world like me, who actually like to note down their thoughts into a notebook, to scribble down a good receipt quickly or to happen to design their very next crafting project.

I will get a few pictures of the new ones as they get finished, but in the meanwhile here is two of my fabric journals which I have taken some new pictures of. My lovely Canon 40D camera is still quite new for me and I still have to learn a lot but I already love the pictures that I am able to take with it very much.

One of them is this beige-vanilla journal with the rosebuds and lace, really womanlike piece, even a bride could take quick notes of her wedding ideas in it.

I know Christmas is still pretty far off, but to look at a Poinsettia is always very pleasant, and I especially liked this Scottish tartan fabric alongside it. :)

Quilting and Beads

I’ve been thinking about it for weeks before (or instead of) falling to sleep, I even saw its color in front of me. Then newer colors as well that could also make it work. Finally last week I bought the new pintuck foot for my Elna 7300 and began to actualize.

Even though the foot didn’t work out (or I am clumsy), I still didn’t give up and kept trying until I achieved the result that I wanted to.

And here comes my favorite part where I already embroider the beads. :)

The Winners of the Raffle

The raffle closed down on Thursday night. Finally 960 tickets were sold, which is fantastic! Estella used the random number generator on Friday and got the winners. Everyone who purchased a ticket can check in the following blogpost whether they are among the lucky winners!

Even though I didn’t win, I still feel very lucky as I can be a part of a very loving and supporting team and I can experience what it’s like to have so many people join together on Etsy and on Facebook for a good cause.

Monday Moodboard - For A Friend

A few days before Christmas, our Etsy friend Sandra lost her husband to cancer. It was discovered in an advanced state and he was gone in a matter of months, forty years old. Sandra and her husband were self employed as restorers of historical tiles, so seven or eight months before his death they weren't able to work. He, too ill, she, taking care of him. They have a five years old boy.

Sandra's Etsy team, EST spirit wants to help her, and so we are organizing a raffle to collect money. There are more than FIFTY prizes to be won, all of them donated by her team members. We will run this raffle for ten days, and at the end of these ten days, more than FIFTY WINNERS will get a prize. There are items for women, men and children, for every taste. Thank You For The Music! - Monday Moodboard

You must be familiar with the feeling when a song sets the mood for your whole day. This is what happened to me yesterday with the ABBA hit that still has its effects on me today. This is probably because it has reminded me of a certain nice summer night.

I watched the movie Mamma Mia on DVD back then, but so many people praised it beforehand that the expected buzz was somehow missing. Then on this summer night it was showed in the movie theater of a local small town (11pm!) and we went to see it. And on this summer night in the crowded theatre, laughing and crooning together with the other viewers and my husband next to me the magic somehow worked.

“Thank You For The Music” was the last song in the movie showing as the credits rolled and almost everyone left already but we stayed until the very end and then had a great walk in the still pretty warm night. This is a nice memory and a really good Mood to start the week with.
