I think it is amazing that all around the world still so many people keep their blogs up to date, though in the time of Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or Flickr this is not so easy anymore. Lots of people take pictures daily, write and share their thoughts. I follow several blogs myself which can be seen on my bloglist and there are some that aren’t there but I still read them frequently!
I’ve learned lots of things from these blogs already and it is especially a good feeling that I can get to know the life, work, hobbies and thoughts of people who live far away from me, and even though we’ve never actually met each other, in good time they still became my good familiars.
Which is why it is great joy and honor that
Ann from Magpie Quilts nominated my blog for the Liebster Blog Award. The word “Liebster” means “beloved” in German, and they award it to blogs that are even though quite small but are worthy of attention. I like this thought and it felt really good that Ann thought of me.
Ann creates wonderful quilts, one of my favorite (
which can be purchased in her Etsy Shop):
In her blog she recently started a very interesting series, titled
“How To Buy A Quilt”.
Thank you, Ann, for nominating my blog for this award!
The Leibster award is given by bloggers to exceptional blogs with fewer than 200 followers. For those who decide to accept the award, the Liebster Rules are:
1. Post about your win on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented you with the award.
3. Copy and paste the award to your blog.
4. Present the Liebster Award to 5 blogs that have less than 200 followers that you think deserve to be recognized.
5. Let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
The following are (in no particular order) are my own nominations for the Liebster Blog Award:
For Quilts Sake – Pam is from Ohio and this is my actual favorite from her. I had to view it several times again and again as I’ve always found some new details worthy of attention.
It is interesting that even though I feel like the traditional quilts and patchworks are the closest to me, Pam’s imagination and playfulness always astonishes me which is why I eagerly wait what she will come out with next time! If you would like to look around in her shop as well then click here:

DUEALBERI - Antonia and Fabio are from Italy and they are members of the European Etsy Team just like me. They make amazing photographs, this is one of my favorites.
On their blog we can find out about their works in more detail, but we can read interviews with other artists as well. If you would like to take a look at their shop then click here:

Pamela Quilts - Pam is from Oregon and she was my Quiltsy Team Buddy after I got accepted among their members, I have a lot to thank her for.
On the picture above you can see the extraordinary Floral Irish Chain which is her own pattern. While Pam creates beautiful quilts from card holders to really large bed quilts, she also teaches and has published several patterns as well. You may find all that in her shop as well if you click here:

Busy Hands Quilts - Myra is from Washington and I really love her quilts and the way she picks out her fabrics for each other, which make her work really warm and cozy! Her Etsy shop is here:

And I found this funny picture at her blog as well!
Jannimary - Janice is from Australia and this amazing green glass collection was the first thing that led me to her blog.
I found out afterwards that Janice is a quilter as well and I’ve read many interesting blog entries about her travels, quilts and quilter meetings.
I can’t find on her blog how many followers she has, but I think her blog definitely deserves to be recognized which is why I would see it among the nominees of the Liebster award!
Please take a minute to visit these ladies, take a look around in their blogs and leave a comment for them!
